Thanos
Hello
I’ve created an element (block) with a dynamic content block to use as template for posts.
It shows the date, title and featured image with certain styling.
I want to add other elements too, like an H2, but I can’t find a way.
Here’s an example:https://ebizfacts.com/income-school-project-24-review/
Different H2, buttons.. for every post.
Can you help?November 15, 2022 at 5:50 pm #2417345Fernando Customer Support
Hi Thanos,
Yes, we can help. To clarify, are you having difficulties in adding an H2 GB Headline Block? If so, here’s a short screen recording you may follow: https://share.getcloudapp.com/4gu4QA6p

It doesn’t make sense.
By selecting ‘term meta’ it picks up a h2?
Where does it draw the data from?
Maybe that helps:
This is my current setup

It’s just an example. You can select any Dynamic source or no source at all. You should be able to alter it to an H2 in any case through the toolbar. Example: https://share.getcloudapp.com/9ZuzlGyP

There is no option for H2 as dynamic source
Maybe I wasn’t clear
I have a content template block with title, date..
and below that a container with dynamic content pulling each post.
When I edit each post I can’t edit the title, date.. only the content.November 15, 2022 at 7:04 pm #2417377Fernando Customer Support
I’m not understanding still. Are you referring to a Dynamic Content Block rather than a Headline Block?
For clarity, can you share admin login credentials, and I’ll take a closer look?
Please use the Private Information field for this: https://docs.generatepress.com/article/using-the-premium-support-forum/#private-information

Did you see the image I shared?
I don’t know what block to use, I want you to tell me.
My template pulls the title and date from each post.
If I put just an H2 it will be the same in every post. I don’t want that.
I can add you by emailNovember 15, 2022 at 7:21 pm #2417389Fernando Customer Support
Yes, I saw the screenshots. Sorry, I’m not getting the full grasp of what you’re encountering.
Let’s try to start from scratch.
What specific “Other elements” are you trying to add?
What sort of H2 or buttons are these? Are they static or dynamic?

I created a block element (content template)
It pulls dynamically the title and date for each post.
I ‘m looking for a way to add an h2 and a button, that will be unique to each post, (but not in the content, in the area above)November 15, 2022 at 7:51 pm #2417415Fernando Customer Support
I see. To clarify, are you displaying this Block Element in a Blog/archive page or a single post?
November 15, 2022 at 7:54 pm #2417416Thanos
for single posts

I see. Block Element – Content Templates aren’t meant to be used for Single Posts though. Their main usage is to style how posts appear on the Blog and Archive Pages.
What you’re trying to achieve can be done through a Block Element – Page Hero instead. Reference: https://docs.generatepress.com/article/block-element-page-hero/
For the subtitle H2 and other unique data specific to each post, you can use a plugin like Advanced custom fields. Reference: https://www.advancedcustomfields.com/resources/getting-started-with-acf/
For instance, you can create a subtitle custom meta field for single posts, then retrieve this through a GenerateBlocks Headline Block through the Dynamic data settings.
Example if you have a custom post meta field with field name “cu-subtitle”: https://share.getcloudapp.com/mXubdobx
