Hello Tom,
My sidebar layout controls are missing.

I don’t know when they disappeared, but I assumed it was when I installed Custom Sidebars, however from that support forum, he is saying his plug in wouldn’t cause it to disappear.
Do you know how I could make them show up again?
Thanks,

Lead DeveloperLead DeveloperThe options in the screenshot disappeared?
If you click on “Screen Options” at the top right of the page, is the “Sidebar Layout” option checked?

I must be missing something, because I don’t see a “screen options” on the right side of page. This is screenshot of all my right hand column options.

Lead DeveloperLead DeveloperYou’re looking for this at the top right of your page: http://screencast.com/t/yM5YzKI8B
In there, there should be a “Sidebar Layout” option.

I’m in the “add new page” part of wordpress and I don’t have that option. Should I be in a different location to see it?

Lead DeveloperLead DeveloperHmm it should definitely be there.
For example: http://screencast.com/t/0nP1pf0Rjuk
If it’s not there, maybe a plugin you have is hiding it (not sure why it would).
Try #1 on this page: https://generatepress.com/knowledgebase/debugging/

Turning off “Custom Sidebars” caused the missing menu to come back. But not the “screen options” to come back. Will keep debugging.

A plugin called “White Label CMS” turned off the Screen Options. I was using it to customize the black navigation bar at the top of the website for signed in people. So Custom Sidebars removed the sidebar settings I was after and White Label CMS removed the option to apparently turn that back on.

Lead DeveloperLead DeveloperIs this the plugin you’re using?: https://wordpress.org/plugins/custom-sidebars/
Just installed it with GP and the sidebar metabox is displaying.
Now that you see Screen Options, make sure Sidebar Layout is checked, then try activating the plugins again.

That is the plugin. I have no idea why sidebar layout was unchecked in screen options. The plugin White Label CMS then turned off the ability to see screen options and so I was stuck. Now that I’ve turned it back on, the sidebar functionality is restored and I’ll have to search for another plugin for the white label functionality.
Thanks!

Lead DeveloperLead DeveloperYou might be able to activate that plugin again now that you’ve made the metabox show up.
No problem! 🙂
