hi; tried a few things to hide author and date from blog post, but they worked on other themes but not gp, so any help would be appreciated.
ps i don’t want to do this one post at a time, that will take forever. is there a universal setting for a gp website?August 11, 2022 at 8:05 am #2310156David
StaffCustomer SupportHi there,
can you share a link to the post where i can see them ? I can then advise on the correct method.

StaffCustomer SupportHi there,
It looks like you are using a block element for the post meta, can you go to appearance >elements, and check if there is a block element that is assigned to posts?
If so, edit that element, you can remove the headline blocks which present the date and author name.
Let me know if this helps 🙂

hi
ok so i did as you suggested, deleted the author / date block, updated … and the posts still have author / date. i refreshed, before i checked.
then i checked to see if i had indeed removed the author/date block. It is gone. NOt sure what to do next.
thx,

StaffCustomer SupportThe link you provided doesn’t work without the admin username and password.
Can you provide that using the private info field?

i changed the marker to do not show the author/date meta data, but it will not let me publish my change. i clik the blue publish button, but it won’t respond. why not?August 15, 2022 at 6:46 am #2313335David
StaffCustomer SupportDo you want the date removed on ALL posts ?
if so there is an alernative method.Go to Customizer > Layout > Blog, there you can choose to disable the date, author and other post meta on Single posts.

Hi Douglas,
Can you re-share login credentials? The login credentials aren’t working anymore.
We’ll check why the setting isn’t working.

sure, i was going to ask yu if you could make this work and then just tell me what you did. obviously i am missing something.
also, and maybe i have to set up another ticket, but i’d like to copy the layouts of onlinebusinesspost and apply them to a new site i am starting, so i don’t have to do all the setup again, is there some way to copy the site layout to my new site? thxAugust 18, 2022 at 10:05 pm #2317161Fernando Customer Support
Thank you. I went to Appearance > Customize > Layout > Blog > Content > Single, and it seems that the post date and author are still set to display. Try disabling them: https://share.getcloudapp.com/E0uZ5j7P
With regards to the second inquiry, in Appearance > GeneratePress > Import/Export, you can export customizer settings.
Then you can import those in your new site.
As for any custom code, you’ll need to manually copy and paste those.
In Tools > Export, you can export the elements, and then import them to your new site as well.
