    Hi

I have searched but could not find a post the same as mine.

I am using GP GB Pro etc

I would like to fully customise the /blog/ archive posts page.

On my site this is set as https://www.respectmortgages.co.uk/articles/

I have managed to create a custom page hero which works OK. But as you can see the output after this is a mess. Currently using one of the new query layouts, which is the type of layout i would like to use

So how can I completely remove the auto generated ‘archive’ content and replace with fully custom content from a block with full control of columns etc?

    Thanks for your help
    Sean

    Hi Sean,

In that case, why not build static pages to replace the default blog/archives?

    Hi

Would that be the only option?

And then 301 the /blog/ WP posts page to it?

    Thanks

    Hi Sean,

Did you add a Query Loop Block inside your Content Template? This will result in a loop within a loop which is what’s happening in the page you linked.

For reference, this is how Content templates work: https://docs.generatepress.com/article/block-element-content-template/

The option recommended by Ying is good and allows you control over the layout completely.

Otherwise, if you plan to use the default archive/blog pages for the layout you want, you’ll need to remove Query loop blocks added in your content template.

If you want to add a Query Loop Block to the archive/blog pages, add it through a different Block Element type(not Content Template) to avoid this issue.

    Hope this clarifies!

    Thanks for the quick reply.

I added one of the new Query Loop Blocks, to add some nice style.

I will look to replace with a static page and then 301
