Hi Tom.
In doing the testing on the GP Premium update, I was adding a BB shortcode to the Copyright area in the Customizer. Works great and you can see the results immediately! π
However, I would like to have that full-width row content go the full width of the footer and not be contained by the .site-info container. I tried every CSS selector I could think to try, but obviously not the correct one π
Any assistance on this will be greatly appreciated. Then I can make a tutorial on this method for the BB + GP users π
Cheers!

Is your footer set to full width or contained in “Customize > Layout > Footer”?
Maybe this CSS will help:
.inside-site-info.grid-container { max-width: 100%; }

It is set to Full Width and your CSS worked perfectly! π
Now my work is cut out for me for the weekend.
Cheers!

November 25, 2016 at 2:47 pm #247790_blankHi Tom,
I have a similar issue, so instead of opening a new ticket, I thought it’d be better to add to this one post.
If I set the footer to full width in customize, then the widgets also go to full width. Since I have a background image, it looks kind of odd, as the image stops right when the widgets go full width (the widgets have a white background). Is there a way to just have the area below the widgets go full width? I’m specifically talking about the area where the copyright goes.
I’ll appreciate your help!
Tammy

I’m not too sure what you mean – can you show me?
You’ll see in the footer of this site it’s set to full width, but the actual widgets are still contained.

I’d love to show you. I took a screen shot but not sure how to upload images here?
Please advise.
Thanks much,

November 28, 2016 at 9:55 am #248819_blankWow! What a neat little tool. Thanks for sharing, Tom!
So here are 2 images.
In the first one, you can see how the copyright bar is not full width when the footer widgets are contained:

In the second one, you can see what happens to the background image when I go full width: it gets chopped off with the widgets overlay, but the copyright bar now is full width.

What I’d like is to have the footer widgets contained but the copyright bar full width. Is it possible?
Hope it makes sense now.Thanks much,
TammyNovember 28, 2016 at 10:30 am #248842TomLead DeveloperLead DeveloperAh, well if you keep your footer full width, you can then add this CSS:
.footer-widgets { max-width: 1100px; margin: 0 auto; }
Then just adjust the max-width to your container width π
November 28, 2016 at 8:08 pm #249080_blankThanks, Tom. I forgot to tell you you are dealing with a new student :p
Where exactly do I add this CSS to? Don’t want to mess too much with code for obvious reasons.
Thanks again,

November 28, 2016 at 8:43 pm #249091_blankSo I just create a plugin and upload it as usual?
That’s easy!
Thanks much!
Tammy πNovember 28, 2016 at 8:44 pm #249092TomLead DeveloperLead DeveloperYou can just use my “Simple CSS” plugin π
November 29, 2016 at 2:02 pm #249445_blankGreat, thanks! π
