so sorry – but: am i missing something or can there only hex-colors be choosen from within settings?
no rgb or rgba for transparency?
would have used the last but no chance. only possible with custom css?wouldnt it be great if one could choose transparent colors directly from within gp-settings???

I’m afraid you can only choose solid colors for now, as that’s what the core WordPress setting allows.
I’m researching a couple ways to add transparency though, if I find one that will scale well and not mess with current sites, I’ll definitely consider adding it 🙂
