Dear Generate Press Support team,
I have purchased Generate Press theme to pass Goole Core Vitals and Speed Guidelines, but I’m having very bad CLS issues. I am using Ezoic Leap for speed optimization.
When I Disable leap, CLS issued is reduced, however, then I fail in Largest Contentful Paint element, and load time increases. Not passing Google’s guidelines is causing me to lose organic traffic.
I have tried everything and I’m really frustrated. Please, can you help?

I tried testing your website through Lighthouse and these are the results I got:

As shown, the major CLS is coming from div#page.site.grid-container.container.hfeed which is pretty broad as it’s a parent element of the entire content area. This flag is like saying “something is shifting the page’s content”.
Tried looking at it manually and this is what I found:

Can you try disabling lazy loading of images?
Can you also try #1 here to check if there is a plugin incompatible with Leap which might be causing the issue?: https://docs.generatepress.com/article/debugging-tips/
Can you also try temporarily using a different theme like Twenty Twenty One to confirm if this is indeed a theme related issue?
Lastly, may you also kindly reach out to your Ezoic to see if they have any insight with regards to the why there is significant CLS with Leap turned on?

I have tested it in Webpagetest.org and it says that the Mobile header Menu is shifting a lot. Here is Webpagetest.org result
Can you suggest fixing it? This CLS issue is only with your theme. I was using Iconic pro Theme without any CLS issues with Leap.

Hi there,
try reducing the Site Title font size on Mobile to around 17px.
So when Ezoic loads your page first without any styles you don’t have an issue of reflow when the large font size style is loaded.For anyone else searching for this, I had the same issue. Leap On = Desktop CLS Fails. Leap Off = Mobile LCP fails. I don’t know if this is new or I never noticed before but in Ezoic go to Leap -> Optimize and scroll to the bottom. Turn Desktop off so Leap only runs on Mobile. Even without Leap, my Desktop is still well in the green.
