    Hi there,

To have a better understanding of the look you’re going for, may you kindly attach a sketch of the sidebar or a link to a website which has the specific design?

    Uploading screenshots: https://docs.generatepress.com/article/using-the-premium-support-forum/#uploading-screenshots

Hope to hear from you soon. 🙂

I don’t have the design, I have designed my website, there is no right sidebar for now in single post template. If I add one sidebar is there any way to merge the sidebar in the content with the same design…

With your current structure, adding a sidebar would probably show up as such: https://share.getcloudapp.com/Z4u75NbL

Are you wanting something like this?: https://share.getcloudapp.com/JruOWEP2

If you’re referring to something else, can you try creating a sketch like the ones I sent for better understand.

Hope to hear from you soon. 🙂

yes yes what u referred I want something like this the 2nd one. I can change the width if need to but can it be possible? it will be good and clean? and how to do it…

at first I thought like u referred the first one but then it will need to cover the first portion of the sidebar black like the design, if I add the ad or link I don’t think showing them beside the title would be good so the second one is good if its possible and I want to look it like it is one sheet of paper containing the content and the sidebar.

One approach to do this is to add the Page Hero (this part: https://share.getcloudapp.com/KouAWkPj) through a Page Hero – Block Element or a Header Element instead.

    Reference: https://docs.generatepress.com/article/block-element-page-hero/

After you’ve set your page hero, you can modify the layout of your Posts and add a sidebar through a Layout Element.

    Reference: https://docs.generatepress.com/article/layout-element-overview/

Now, you should be able to add widgets through Appearance > Widgets or Appearacne > Customize > Widgets.

You may also modify the entire sidebar as such: https://docs.generatepress.com/article/block-element-sidebar/

    Or https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=1E7zFl678kg for individual widgets.

The font of your website and other styling are currently being done through custom CSS.

You can try applying the sidebar first, and see which additional changes are needed.

Hope this helps! Feel free to reach out if further assistance is needed. 🙂

I tried to create a page hero but there will be a gap in the page hero and the starting of the content

You can try creating the Page Hero – Block Element first, and then the Layout Element.

After that, we can look at the other stuff such as CSS.

If you want, you can start displaying this for a single post only through the Element’s display rules.

Then after everything is done, you can display it to all other locations you prefer.

As for your second response, this would be subjective to your audience and your preference. I personally believe it would be best to create a “blueprint” first through platforms such as FIgma or Adobe before making major changes to your website.

Through this, you would be able to see if a change would look better or worse for your website.

Lastly, you’re correct, having a sidebar for ads is not a must. It all comes down to preference.

As for this: I tried to create a page hero but there will be a gap in the page hero and the starting of the content

You may modify the spacing of your Container Layout to remove the gap. Try going Appearance > Customize > Layout > Container and remove the top padding of the Content Padding: https://docs.generatepress.com/article/container-layout-overview/

    Hope this clarifies. 🙂
