Trish
In setting up a landing page, I’ve tried to change the color of my text within ONE block of text but the options shown in WordPress seem not available to me.
When editing, going to the sidebar Block tab… clicking the down arrow beside Color… clicking on Text… I only see a few options to choose offered by the theme and NO means of entering my preferred color. When I highlight the text and go to the down arrow in the block itself… change text color is NOT available either.
I find this block editor a pain in the you-know-what. It was sooooo much easier using the Classic Editor. :'(
Please help?

StaffCustomer SupportHi Trish,
Do you mean the paragraph block of WP?
If so, you should be able to click on the 3 dots button, then edit it as HTML.

Why are the other options not available?
Is that due to the theme itself, or WordPress changed?
Soooo… I need to create the entire landing page in HTML blocks then… hmmm, who knew.

StaffCustomer SupportWhy are the other options not available?
Well it’s a WP core block, the theme has no control over it.
I really can’t answer your question. You might be able to get the answer from WP’s support team 🙂

No Ying it is NOT a WP core issue. I change the theme used AWAY from Generate Press and I CAN see Theme AMD Default options for changing the text color, so this MUST be an exclusive issue with GP.

StaffCustomer SupportCan you take a screenshot of the Default options for changing the text color?
You can upload the screenshot to https://postimages.org/, then share the link with us.
When I switch to twenty twenty theme, the options of paragraph block look exactly the same as in GP.

Hope this works…

StaffCustomer SupportDo you mean the WP default colors are missing?
https://www.screencast.com/t/FqgStNyWAyFGP is using global color, so you can add the colors to customizer > colors, those colors will show up in the post editor.

The only problem with that is by changing under Customize it changes the entire site. I want to change ONE block of text within ONE page, which is why I posted this question. 🙂

Hi Trish,
I see. With the Paragraph Block WordPress core theme, you may choose your preferred color as such:
https://share.getcloudapp.com/L1uWLBQK
https://share.getcloudapp.com/E0uoDAne
Moreover, the Paragraph Block is a WP core block, and the color options for this Block comes from them. WP Theme – Twenty Twenty-two changed the color options which is similar to what you showed in your screenshot. On the contrary, other themes like twenty twenty-one and twenty twenty should be using the same.
See: https://share.getcloudapp.com/eDulmy8g
Hope this clarifies! Feel free to reach out if you’ll have any further inquiries! 🙂

Thank YOU Fernando!
I just KNEW there had to be a way of doing this properly.
Now, if I can figure out how to remove the large white spaces between the text blocks.

StaffCustomer SupportHi there,

Hi David,
Yes, yes, of course I can share a link, in the textbox below.
Appreciate ANY help you can offer me with this.

StaffCustomer SupportOK so text blocks will attract the Customizer > Typography settings for the Body text, which has a 1.5em Bottom margin.
For the kind of styles you want to achieve i would suggest using the GenerateBlocks plugin > Headline Block.
With that block you can style it as you please without affecting the global styles for your siteMarch 1, 2022 at 9:55 am #2138358Trish
I tried that plugin yesterday and because I couldn’t get assistance, I asked for a reimbursement and bought another page builder for landing pages.
Hmmmm… so, I’m forced to purchase a landing page builder then. Sheeesh, another reason to want to no longer use WordPress.
HTML and CSS was sooooooo much easier to use. Every update WordPress and plugins do to make things “drag n drop” makes their software more frustrating to use. I MUCH prefer working with the actual code so that I get what I want when I want, instead of having to take another course just to learn how to use a new piece of software. :'(
Thanks David. Leastwise, now I know that I’m stuck… or… I could simply create an HTML page instead. Much appreciate you help.
