    Hello,

    I created a carousel slider with a small code, here’s the screenshot – https://ibb.co/tzw4JMH

Then I added properties of the carousel with a Hook element. But, now I am thinking if we can show posts automatically with WP Show Posts shortcode in this carousel ?

I tried replacing code with WP Show Posts shortcode, but it is not perfectly working, articles are showing with a large gapping, also slider not working on mobile.

    Here’s the screenshot – https://ibb.co/X2XNtWw

Can you suggest me easy way to add posts in carousel slider on Generatepress? I tried searching carousel plugin, but these are not like that.

I attached the code in private section if you want to check.

    Waiting for your reply.

    Hi there,

I assume the Carousel is running Javascript ? And if it is – then thats not going to work on AMP Pages – as that won’t run 3rd party JS.

WP Show Posts Pro had a carousel feature but the plugin was deprecated as we’re rebuilding it in GenerateBlocks.
So for now i don’t have a solution, you would need to look for a post carousel plugin i am afraid

Hello good afternoon, I have been following the evolution of the Alpha (I am with the version Version 1.5.0-rc.2) of Generate Block and I would like to know if in the end we will have this option as standard or will it have to be implemented in another way with js . Thanks in advance. https://ibb.co/rHGhqnL

    Hi there,

the carousel and slider options will be added to a future GenerateBlocks Pro update.
The current schedule is to release GB 1.5 on 21st June. With an update to GB Pro 1.2, which will just prepare the Pro plugin for the Query Block. Carousels and other interactive features will come later.

ok, perfect, don’t you have some documentation on how to implement by hand with hock or snipped a post js gallery? I don’t know if you have anything related to this, thanks https://splidejs.com/

i just spent a lot of time trying out slider plugins – with emphasis on how good they work with generateblocks.
I settled with wp swiper – which basically lets you use any block in the slider (swiper on mobile). It doesnt have that much options – but simple animation etc. works.

So far i used it for some hero blocks which i simply copied into that slider after i designed them. Only problem was the background image – for some reason this gb backgrounds didn’t work as planned – but there is an option to add a background to the slide itself – which worked for me.

For the next update of my website i will add a news/blog section. For that i also plan to show some current posts in the slider. David already told me about the new/upcoming gb version. I think with this it may be possible to do the same: create a dynamic news “hero” -> and simply copy that code into a slide -> which then gets animated by wp swiper.

Maybe this idea also works for you.

Also: im not a fan to add to many functions to generateblocks. Same as e.g. an Accordion block. This somehow reminds me of the tons of other block plugins which are basically collections of blocks – using more mass then class.
There are already good open source options there – so imho its wasted time to add features that blow up the lightweight approach of generateblocks. Im not affiliated with wpswiper btw – but why not create a list of (open source) plugins like that – that work well with gb and extend its functionality – and recommend them if someone needs that functionn.
For most cases there are plugins based on fully fledged open source projects – wp swiper (which is still quite basic and hasn’t implemented a lot of features) e.g. is based on swiperjs which is used, developed and sponsored by tons of big companies. Gb can profit from projects like that – i was quite surprised that i could simply drag and drop a quite complex container in there – and it just worked (besides the background problem). So testing that plugins like that work well with gb instead to create your own feature seems to me like a valid approach. There probably also is a way to somehow add this as premium feature.
Hope this didnt sound like to much of a rant or hijacking this thread – i just want to say that in my opinion you can make gb profit from other existing plugins 😉
