    Hello,

I’m trying to develop a new website (link in Private box – Please don’t post it publicly) and would like to add the tooltip feature to many places of it.

I’m using GenerateBlocks, GenerateBlocks Pro, GP Premium plugins and also Duplicate Page, Safe SVG and Sticky Block. Nothing else for the moment.

In the page i’m providing you in the private box (Please don’t post those links publicly) for example, i have created a pricing table where i want almost every line of it to have its own hover text. I provide you an image link of the referred pricing table on the private box.

Let’s take the line “Custom themes” on the first column which i have highlighted on the image i send you. It uses a Headline of GeneratePress -> Headline Element “P” and i want to edit the text it shows on hover so i go “Edit as HTML”. It’s html contains:

<p class="gb-headline gb-headline-6fe75224 gb-headline-text" data-tooltip="The power of WordPress comes to life when you pick a theme that fits your website. Customize your theme to your exact specifications, from color and font, to size and placement of website section. Build a website as limitless as your imagination.">Custom Themes</p>

If i try any edits on this like delete some words, the block collapses and i get the message:

“This block contains unexpected or invalid content.” and a button “Attempt Block Recovery”. If i do a Block recovery, the block returns back to its previous state which is the html code i wrote above.

What can i do to fix the collapsing? This table is an example of where i wish to use the tooltip. My goal is to have the line “Custom Themes” of the code above to have an underline which will guide people to hover on it and read what it says.

Any ideas what could cause this error?

Please check the private box for admin credentials and the link to the image i posted above. Please do not mention or paste the link of my website publicly.

    Thank you.

    Hi IK,

I tried replicating the issue from my end, and I couldn’t replicate it. I was able to edit the tooltip successfully, and save my changes on the link you sent.

    See this for reference: https://share.getcloudapp.com/bLuxndlR

    Also see: https://share.getcloudapp.com/yAukE0JQ

I have reverted my changes after this specific test.

Maybe it was just a syntax error from your end?

Here are some reasons that may cause this kind of issue: https://motopress.com/blog/this-block-contains-unexpected-or-invalid-content-gutenberg/#:~:text=couple%20of%20solutions.-,Possible%20Reasons,-The%20most%20common

Moreover, can you try using a different browser, and a different device and see if the issue could be replicated?

Kindly let us know how it goes. Hope to hear from you soon. 🙂

    Hello,

    Thank you for your reply.

I tried this time from Chrome, Firefox and Edge and on a totally different system but still the block collapses and i get the messages “This block contains unexpected or invalid content.” and “Attempt Block Recovery”.

I have recorded my screen (45 seconds) and provide you a link to the recording on the private box.

Can you please verify that i don’t do anything different from what you did?

I also saw the links you provided. If it is an issue related to the way i built the website (referring to the motopress link you provided me), then i’ll have to redo it from the beginning as i can’t spot where the mistake could lie…

    Thank you.

    Hi there,

you should edit that data-tooltip attribute in the Advanced > Attributes property:
