Dear GP Support,
I had a problem with Autopizmize and the integrated Shortpixel function that some images where loading just blurred. So I disabled Shortpixel (except Lazy loading) and now still one image on my website is not loading at all in Safari (Chrome did fine in some tests).
The other images are loading up fine, just the first one below the menus isn’t loading in Safari. Also, when I change the picture, it’s still not loading. I attached my URL and a screenshot debug (containing some 404 errors), maybe you have an idea here and can help me out.
Thanks and best!

StaffCustomer SupportHi there,
looks like a lazyloading issue, and its rather sporadic happening to me on some loads on Chrome as well.
What happens if you disable autoptimize and clear browser caches?January 31, 2022 at 2:33 am #2099743scometamus
Yes, this solved the issue, thanks!. Should I leave autoptimize disabled? I always had problems like this with cache plugins, so I wonder why even use them.

StaffCustomer SupportTry re-enabling it now – it may just have been a cached file causing an issue.

Ok, thanks for the info David, that worked!. So just turning it off/on as a rule of thumb.

StaffCustomer SupportYeah it may have just been some bad code in the cached files. So clearing the autoptimize cache or quick off/on can resolve that.
Glad to be of help

Hey David, I need reopen this ticket because suddenly the issue came up again. I probably didn’t notice it first due to cache, but whenever I turn off Autoptimize, the image goes missing; whenever I turn it on, the image appears.
I did some research on my own and found out when turning off in the Autoptimize settings to aggregate CSS files, the image doesn’t vanish with turned on plugin. – That’s for the info, maybe others here face the same issue.
My question to you is, as the CSS-feature has some benefits, if there is some way to solve this. The issue first appeared when turning on short pixel which I already turned off, but I think, it still searches the link to shortpixel when CSS files are aggregated. The reason: I attached a little screen recording showing that there still is kind of an replacement image on the site although nothing seems to be there.
Maybe a cache issue or what do you think?

StaffCustomer SupportI would suggest speaking to the Autoptimize author – Frank is real good and knows the theme well.
Sorry i just have zero experience with Autoptimize + ShortpixelFebruary 2, 2022 at 7:37 am #2102733scometamus
