Hello, my archives (cateogry) pages are displaying all posts as Full Content, even though I have the Layout setting for Archives to display Excerpt > 55 words. Am I just doing something wrong?

what happens if you disable the Child Theme?
Hi David, that is one of the first things I tried but it made no difference
Can you temporarily disable it so i can take a closer look at whats going on?

Were those posts imported or from an old site?
What happens if you create a new post or convert one of the old ones in Blocks ?They were create initially with wp bakery i believe, then i turned off wp bakery to use GP instead and was left with a bunch of shortcode which I removed
Let me try creating a new post, and also seeing what happens when converting one to blocks
So it looks like when I create a new post the archives page is displaying the excerpt properly
However, on existing posts even if i “Convert to blocks” it does not solve the issue.
I’m guessing the only solution will be to manually re-add all the posts?
Something in the database must be messing with the excerpts of those posts.
You could try copying and pasting to a new post and then rename to see if that works.I’ve decided to just wipe the site and start from a clean slate and I’ll just re-add the posts that way.
Looks like it wasnt a GP issue. Thanks for the support though!

Although the customiser setting clearly says ‘excerpt’ for single posts, it still shows the entire story on page 1. Clearly, a bug there.
