For some reason, my site title on home page is showing in <title> tags.
It is enclosed in-between Yoast plugin setting, when I view source.
I see that other posts are also having <title> in place of <h1>
I would like to make it <h1> tag as required by Bing WMT.I think <h1> was the default nature. But I feel I might have changed some time long back.
Dont remember where I did it?

The post title is a H1.
Your home page has no H1 on the page because:
a) Its set to display the Latest Posts
b) the Site Title is not displayed in the Header.I see this .

Ok. I got it. Yoast SEO is putting the titles in <title> tag. But your theme puts it in <h1> tag for posts.

Correct … OR .. you can add a H1 to the Home page without a Site Title using a Block Element:
