Hi there, am running GP Premium.. My site (https://shippingandfreightresource.com) shows Site Speed Index is 1.8S and TBT is 304ms.. When I checked the reasons, GTMetrix shows below.. GTM also said
“General methods to Eliminate render-blocking resources
There are two general methods to Eliminate render-blocking resources, as follows:Move tags to the bottom
Move all <script> and <link> tags to the bottom of your HTML code.If these resources are at the bottom of the page, they would be the last things to be parsed, eliminating any blocking that may occur early on.”
My questions are
1) how to move all the <script> and <link> tags to the footer (am using a child theme)
2) will it affect the site loading in any way
3) will it affect the display as this includes stylesheets as well..+++
Resources are blocking the first paint of your page. Consider delivering critical JS/CSS inline and deferring all non-critical JS/styles. Resources that may be contributing to render-blocking include:

if i can skip to questions #2 and #3 – the answers are Yes and Yes. Which makes it in advisable to just move the loading order of things. It could lead to breakages, broken styles or reflows in the layout.
Looking at your site, the biggest issue is related to the Advert scripts.
Use a plugin like Flying Scripts, PerfMatters or another optimization plugin to defer the loading of the JS files listed underReduce the impact of third-party
code here:https://pagespeed.web.dev/report?url=https%3A%2F%2Fwww.shippingandfreightresource.com%2F
I would deal with that first before looking at the other improvements
November 23, 2021 at 9:32 am #2018161manaadiarThanks.. Can you give me a code that I can use in functions.php or elsewhere to defer the loading of the JS files instead of using Plugin..?? I am trying to minimise the usage of plugins..
November 23, 2021 at 9:38 am #2018174DavidStaffCustomer SupportI don’t have the code to do that unfortunately. Its why those plugins exist as there quite a few parameters to consider. None of those plugins will have any negative impact on frontend performance.
