    Hello,
I’m trying to optimize LCP and I have therefore reduced the featured image size on posts.

Now Page Speed Insight indicates the first paragraph of the posts as LCP and gives me a quite long load time. What can I do?

    Hi there,

when i ran a PSI report there is very little difference between the FCP and the LCP times.
Which mean the LCP element isn’t an issue. The problem is whats happening before the FCP can be completed.

I ran a web page test report here to show you whats going on:

    https://www.webpagetest.org/result/211111_BiDcCA_8ab56f21968d1283c58caa7a6ab05308/1/details/#step1_request

You’ll notice on line 26 of the waterfall – there is an X marker. This denotes a the resource is Render Blocking.
That resource is coming from Ezoic, and i hate to say it, you will need to raise a support topic with them to help with that.

    Hi David,
Ezoic says, cash.js substitutes jquery, which is slower. I don’t know, for now I have disabled cash.js.
Now it seems to load faster.

I have also disabled lazy load in Ezoic for the class dynamic-featured-image wp-post-image

But PSI continues to give the first paragraph as LCP.

Whatever element occupies the largest number of pixels is listed as the LCP Element.
Google PSI always lists an LCP Element – its not an error, its a diagnostic, so you can see how Google measured the LCP time.

OK, that makes it clear. I did not understand why every tool gives me a different LCP. Thank you 🙂
