Steve
Hi,
I am not sure if this is related to the recent GP and GenerateBlocks updates, but all the preset color codes are gone. I used to have red, green, yellow, blue, etc, now it’s just these base colors. Is this related to the update? If so, is there a way to get those back?
Here is a link to the screenshot I took.

Lead DeveloperLead DeveloperHi Steve,
GeneratePress 3.1 implemented Global Colors and adds them to the color palette.
How were you adding the colors previously? If you were using a custom function can you share it with us?
Thanks!

I wasn’t using a custom function at all. I just used the colors that were there by default. The colors that used to show up before the update had a variety of colors, and I was just clicking the preset colors from the 10 or 12 choices that were there. There was one for yellow, red, green, two different blues, etc.
I used darker blue for the background on the H2s on one of my sites and I used a green color for the background H2s on another site. It was super easy, I would just click on the color choices that were already there by default.
I was able to get the color code from my other articles, but that adds more steps to my process, by the time I add the color code into the custom color area. Before it was so easy.
So, the screenshot I sent used to have a variety of colors, not just the current ones.
Not sure if this was an intention of the update. If there is a way I can customize the color options I see that would be super helpful.

Here is what it looked like before.

This is what I am trying to accomplish. I want my H2’s to have white text and a green background.

If there is a way to set this automatically, that would be great too.
Thanks!

Lead DeveloperLead DeveloperAh, those are the default colors that WordPress provides.
In GP 3.1, we introduced Global Colors: https://docs.generatepress.com/article/using-global-colors/
These colors now occupy the color palette.
You can set them in “Customize > Colors”.
Let us know if you have any other questions 🙂
