Andrew
Hi Support team,
I’m having all kinds of issues customizing the header on woocommerce shop/product pages for a site. It’s just coming out standard grey no matter what options I input into customizer, and seems to even ignore my exclusion rules for the main site header I created. This can be seen in the differences between the page links I’ll provide below. Don’t know how to fix.
Thanks for the help!!

StaffCustomer SupportHi there,
Can you clear and disable your caching plugin first?
October 11, 2021 at 11:05 am #1960219Andrew
Yes, I have done so. Still getting grey background on all shop and product pages

Also a grey bar above the footer. So maybe related?

StaffCustomer SupportOn the shop page and single product page, there is a merged header element assigned to them currently.
Can you disable that first?

That’s the one I have site-wide. I tried to exclude shop/product page but didn’t work. Do you want me to try exclusion again, or to disable main site merged header for the entire site?
Thanks

StaffCustomer SupportYes please try the exclusion again.
If not can you temporarily set that header element to draft?

Ok, exclusion didn’t work. Moved to draft, and then the grey/white background went site-wide. So this seems to be a default set somewhere, but when I tried to customize header options, primary nav options, colors etc etc. I couldn’t seem to find which default header was being implemented.
Thanks

Or rather, if I customize the background color for header, it will mess up my merged site-wide header. And there are still grey margins below and above footer on shop page.

StaffCustomer SupportWhat color are you using in Customizer > Colors > Header > Background?
From the code, it looks like this is the color
rgba(255,255,255,0)which is transparent.October 11, 2021 at 11:34 am #1960257Andrew
Yes, so, for my site-wide merged header, I want transparent color so it overlays the photo backgrounds, with white text. But obviously this doesn’t work for the shop/product pages with transparent against white.

StaffCustomer SupportTry setting the transparent header background color in the merged header element itself:
https://docs.generatepress.com/article/transparent-header-and-navigation/And keep the customizer option to a solid color (like the blue you had) for the pages without a merged header element.
The video in the doc page should be helpful if you haven’t seen it yet.

Ok, thanks. Will give it a try soon.

StaffCustomer SupportSounds good.

Hi Leo, tried above options. Still didn’t work. When I enable merged header, that seems to override all others and default to transparent header option, even on shop pages and excluded pages, with no solid background as set, so…?
thanks
