After updating to the last version of the plugin, the blog customizer post image size isn’t working anymore. Previously I had a 200×200 post image, but now I can only leave the width and height on “Auto”, otherwise my site doesn’t load. Any clue? If not, can you send me the GP Premium 1.2.81, as I don’t have it anymore?

Grr, the last image resizer was causing issues on some hosts, so I researched a bunch and found a new one that’s awesome. Not good to hear it’s still causing some issues on some servers.

Can you check your error_log to see if any specific errors are causing the site not to load when the resizer is working?

Actually, there are no errors on error_log. But any size you put on the customizer, even the ones which were already created by Ewww Imagem Optimizer (I’ve already deactivated to test), break the site completely, showing a HTTP Error 500. It seems it can’t access the miniatures, because now it’s loading the full resolution image files. It’s hosted on Hostgator, and it’s link is: http://rediscoveringtheworld.com

A 500 error should create an entry in the error log – can you check with Hostgator to see if they have an error log they can check? It would help to know exactly which part of the resizer is causing the issue.

Well, I’m sorry to say the log error from Hostgator Control Panel (Apache) it’s completely empty.

Can you please send me 1.2.81 version to a@rediscoveringtheworld.com? My site is very slow right now because of the full resolution images.

    Done.

If it’s a 500 internal server error, there will be a log of it somewhere (even if it’s not in the log you have access to).

Have you tried contacting Hostgator to see if they can shed any light on it?

Thanks. Not yet, I’m testing a CDN server, don’t know if it has any interference on it, though.

Any chance I can send you the new version to test a new resizer? If so, send me an email to support@generatepress.com 🙂

I might have a similar problem. My site is loading okay, but every image size I set in blog costumizer post image tab is being ignored and a size around 500px is displayed instead. If I activate masonry or columns, the post image is being resized properly. Is that related to the behavior described in this thread?

Are you clicking the “Apply image sizes” button after changing the size values?
