    Hi,

I’m using the Pivot theme and would like to reduce the max-width of the entire website (from topbar, menu etc. to the footer-bar) to let’s say a max-width of 1400px.
I don’t see this option in the customiser.
Can you tell me how to achieve this?

    Thanks!

    Hi there,

You can adjust it in Customizer > Layout > Container –> Container Width

NOTE: Most of your pages have been built with a Container Block, which has its own Width settings, by default they will inherit the above theme setting, but if you have manually edited those settings they wont.

Unless you’re creating a Full Width page layout, there is no need to add that Container Block.

    Hi David,

Thank you about the tip, I thought I always needed to add a container.

The content (text) is 1200px, that’s fine with me. I think my question wasn’t too clear 😉
My problem concerns mainly the nav-menu and footer, if I scale the website they become very (endless) wide, I would like them also to have a max-width. So that the entire website never becomes wider than 1400px.

    Thanks again.

    Hi Petri,

If you want the header/footer width to be contained, you’ll need to set them to be contained.

Footer: Customizing > Layout > Footer > Footer Width.
Header: Customizing > Layout > Header > Header Width.

This contained width will follow the value set at Customizer > Layout > Container –> Container Width.

    Hope that’s clear 🙂
