Hey there,
Hope you’re all doing well today!
I’m just having a bit of a problem with a hook element that appears between my navigation and my content. The element is a slider. I have the element set to the below settings:
However, these settings work perfectly fine when I’m logged in, but when I’m logged out and browsing my site like a normal visitor the slider element does not show up. The slider may show up on just a few pages on the desktop, but it’s barely on any pages when I’m logged out. Also, the slider doesn’t appear at all on mobile.
This is what the slider looks when it’s supposed to be working:
I’m not sure what I’m doing wrong as I want the slider to appear on every page, except for Excluded pages. Also, I don’t have anything set for the “User” setting because I’m assuming that leaving it blank will just default to any type of user being able to view the slider. I did test out having the slider be visible to only “Logged out” users, but that didn’t work either and it still didn’t display correctly on Desktop and didn’t appear at all on Mobile.
What am I doing wrong? Thank you!

StaffCustomer SupportHi there,
I believe smart slider plugin has an option to not display for non-logged in users.
You can check if your slider is set to not display on non logged in users.

Hey there,
I checked the settings for Smart Slider, and there is code that you can use to make it so that the slider only appears on Desktop or for logged-in users only. However, I did not use that particular piece of code. I believe this is a problem with the Element part of GeneratePress. This is because I Deactivated Smart Slider and installed Meta Slider, a different slider plugin and I’m running into the same problem.
I have provided credentials to see if you can take a closer look at the problem. Thank you.

StaffCustomer SupportHmm I don’t believe this is a GP issue – we haven’t had any other reports on this.
Typically when something works when logged and doesn’t when logged out, it’s some sort of caching or optimizing issue.
Can you try disabling all of your caching and optimizing plugins and make sure there isn’t anything built-in on the server level as well?
Thanks 🙂

Hey there Leo,
I’ll give that a try and see what happens. This could very well be a caching issue.
