Jane
Hi, I am unable to change the content padding on mobile. I have enabled the spacing module, deactivated caching plugins, and cleared my browser cache but nothing seems to make a difference. The content is hard up against the mobile edge and I would like to add a little padding for easier reading. Are you able to help please?

StaffCustomer SupportHi Jane,
To confirm:
Have you tried setting separate padding for mobile as shown here? https://share.getcloudapp.com/jkuPo79m
If that doesn’t work, can you link us to the site in question to check?
You can use the private information text field to provide site details. Let us know.

Hi Elvin,
Thanks for your reply. Yes I have tried that but on doing so I noticed it’s not changing for desktop either. Site details are below.
Cheers

StaffCustomer SupportStrange.
I’ve checked the front-end of your site and it’s showing this:
Your site is having 410 error as shown here – https://share.getcloudapp.com/YEuZmnvZ
Can you try purging your cache so it generates a new one?
I wasn’t able to check the back-end as I don’t see the credentials on the previous reply. can you confirm? Let us know.

Hi Elvin,
Details are below. I got someone else in the household to take a look and they are seeing the icons on the front page at full screen but not the error you see. I have no idea. If I clear my cache the icons are at full screen as soon as I log in they return to normal. Something weird is going on but I have no doubt it’s something I’ve fiddled with.

StaffCustomer SupportChanging of layout padding should’ve been as simple as this demo video – https://share.getcloudapp.com/BluK0llJ
(i didn’t save anything. it’s just a demo)Let’s try to find any conflicts first.
Can you try disabling ALL plugins except GP Premium and GenerateBlocks and see if the issue still occurs?
Also, can you check on your hosting if there’s a server-sided cache? Please clear it if there is one.
Let us know how it goes.

Have done as you suggested front page looks bad and I’m still unable to change the padding on either mobile or desktop but rest of site looks okay.

I had a thought, I use cloudflare would that be a problem?

Ah yes! I missed that. My bad.
CDNs like Cloudflare can have an effect on how CSS is served as well because CDNs may save and serve broken or outdated version of the site’s assets.
Can you try disabling it and/or clearing its cache? Let us know.

Hi Elvin,
No luck. I purged the cache and disabled it waited a bit for changes to take effect but nothing. Have it back up now.

StaffCustomer SupportHi there,
do you have any Layout Elements in Dashboard > Appearance > Elements ?
As the site has its Content Container set to Full Width – which strips the themes padding.Let me know.

Hi David,
Guilty I’m afraid. I have two, one for full page width specifically to allow a full width hero image and one for full post width. I don’t need the full post element but how do I get around the page element as I have built my front page using it?
Cheers

StaffCustomer SupportYou can set the Display Rule Locations in the Element to just the
Front pagethis should leave the rest of the site intact.June 2, 2021 at 3:43 pm #1807952Jane
Pretty obvious now that you say it. Thank you for your help.
