    Hi,

I’m using elements to define different widths which is really great.
But this does not reflect completely in the Gutenberg editor.
It looks like content padding for the site is not considered in the editor and when I set an image to align wide it does not look at all like frontend. I believe it just align to the site default with?

    Thanks!
    /Anders

    Hi there,

Can you share a little more info on how you’re setting these widths and where they’re not reflecting correctly? Screenshots may help 🙂

    Thanks!

    Hi,

Here is a link to screenshot from fresh GP premium install with no other plugins.
    https://postimg.cc/nCj7BWNW
Container width is default 1200px with content padding 40px.
The upper part shows Gutenberg editor, below is frontend.
There is some text then an image set to “wide width”.
For this I have defined a layout element, “content area: default”, “content width: 700px”

Frontend is the way I expected but in Gutenberg the image is all the way to 1200px
and content padding space is not “excluded” in Gutenberg

The green box is a group block with paragraph text inside (all default), margins and padding does not match?

    Thanks!

    Hi there,

The padding, if it comes from a stylesheet not enqueued/added as an “editor-styles”, won’t reflect on the editor.

Can you link us to the page in question? To inspect.

The 40px padding is most likely, the padding from Appearance > Customize > Layout > Container. That one isn’t enqueued for editor styles so you’ll only see that in the front end.

    Hi,

Everything is default with latest updates and no other plugins than GP Premium so it should be easy for you to replicate.

Yes, the padding is from the default customizer settings…not a huge deal but do you plan to fix this?
I build sites for clients and just started working with GP because I wanted something that works really well with Gutenberg without tweaks. The “wide width” image is the biggest difference here, is this expected?

    Thanks!

This should definitely be better in the editor. We’ll take a look to see if it’s something we can improve in GP 3.1.0 🙂
