Fabien
Hello,
I have Cumulative Layout Shift issue on my website (see URL in private information), both on mobile and desktop. I have other sites with a similar setup (all with Generate Press) and I don’t have CLS issues with them so I don’t understand where it’s coming from. Could you help me solve the CLS issues for that site?
Thanks,

StaffCustomer SupportHi there,
Can you try setting your theme icons to SVG? You can do that through Appearance > Customize > General and change the icon type dropdown value to SVG.
As for everything else:
You seem to be using Thrive Architect. It’s a third-party plugin outside of our scope.
But to help you out, consider using a caching/optimization plugin to improve how your stylesheets are served.
All of the thrive assets are being flagged under “Serve static assets with an efficient cache policy” within Google PSI.

Thanks Elvin. I tried changing the theme icons to SVG but it made things worse, CLS increased after the change.
I solved the “Serve static assets with an efficient cache policy” issue for the thrive assets. But I still have CLS issues. I just contacted the support team of Thrive Architect, I hope they can help me find a solution.

StaffCustomer SupportHi there,
can you disable the Optimized CSS Delivery ( Critical CSS ) option in WP Rocket. Its one of the most common causes of CLS that we see. Remove that first – and recheck the site. If theres still an issue then disable WP Rocket entirely and retest. If that passes then re-enable WP Rocket… you may need to try enabling/disabling each of the CSS settings one by one to see which is causing the issue.

I know this is somewhat off-topic, but since this was one of the first results in Google for “fix Thrive Architect cumulative layout shift”:
I just thought I’d pop in here and verify that David’s proposed solution — Disabling “Optimized CSS Delivery” in WP Rocket — fixed my problem. Thank you!
I was getting a little frustrated as I couldn’t fix CLS penalties on my Thrive Architect landing pages despite quite a bit of searching and experimenting… and of course it turned out to be something as simple as unchecking one little box.
For anyone else searching and finding this, across the board my Core Web Vital scores improved and my loading time either improved or remained the same when I unchecked this box, so don’t worry about somehow “reducing” your optimization by disabling that feature. YMMV, of course, but don’t be afraid to test it at least.
I wish Thrive was as clean and efficient as GeneratePress. 😉
