I inherited this website which had been using a very old version of GeneratePress, which included the old Hooks module. They want me to simply update the site with new colors and a logo, but keep the layout the same. Currently, the site has equal height main content and sidebar areas.

The live site uses the javascript and CSS from this post, https://generatepress.com/forums/topic/same-length-sidebar/, and it works. However, I’ve updated the theme and plugins on my staging server and the old script no longer works.

Here’s the link to the live (still using the Hooks module): http://www.supportingparentsessexnj.org/

Here’s the updated site on my staging server: http://specnj.candyappledev.com/

I’ve tried using the CSS that David gives in the support ticket above, but it doesn’t work on this site. What do you suggest?

I forgot to add a link to show a page with unequal column heights – here’s an example http://specnj.candyappledev.com/crisis/

    Hi Elizabeth,

Sorry, I don’t quite get what you are trying to achieve? And on which site?

    Let me know 🙂

    Hi Ying,

I apologize for the confusion. This is the site that I’m working on http://specnj.candyappledev.com/.

I am trying to have the #main and #right-sidebar areas always be the same height.

    Hi there,

Can you try using Flexbox? The settings can be found on Appearance > Customize > General and set the Structure dropdown to “Flexbox”.

Thank you Elvin! This is such an old site that I didn’t realize that flexbox wasn’t selected. That did the trick!
