Richard
I am sure this is something simple I am just missing somewhere, however, I cannot seem to change button colors from the customizer. Try as I might changing the color settings for buttons in the customizer simply will not take effect. Additionally, creating a new button does not actually honor the settings in the customizer. When I create a new button the default color and hover color do not match what the customizer indicates.
I am running Elementor as my page builder (with options to Disable Elementor’s default colors and fonts).
I have GenerateBlocks installed as I want to move as many pages away from Elementor as possible to make them less code heavy. This happens on pages with buttons created in Elementor as well as in the default WP editor. I am able to change the individual button colors via both Elementor and the Block Editor controls, which I have done, however, I would rather just set the colors from the theme and have all buttons controlled from there instead.
Not that I have very many buttons, but understanding this behavior on this site will help me with other sites that are also using GeneratePress and either of these page editors.
Call me confused. 😉

FYI, even though I just updated to the newest version of GP Premium (2.0), I was observing this behavior prior to the recent update.

StaffCustomer SupportHi Richard,
If you build the buttons using Elementor, their style will override GP customizer settings.
I’m not familiar with Elementor, but I assume they should have some settings to honor the theme’s style. For this, you might want to reach out to Elementor’s support.
And for the site map page, these links are not buttons, they don’t have the
buttonclass, so the customizer options for buttons won’t work. You might able to change their color at customizer > colors > content > link.

Hope that helps 🙂April 28, 2021 at 9:47 am #1753725Richard
The buttons built in Gutenberg are also not responding to the attempts to change the color from the customizer.
The links on the site map page are obviously not buttons. However, if you click the link for “Styles Gutenberg” from that site map page you will see a Gutenberg created button.
This button did not start with the default colors for buttons as defined in the customizer as I would have expected. It also will not respond to any changes made in the button colors via the customizer.
See the comment I added in the private information section.

StaffCustomer SupportI see that’s a button built with Generateblocks.
Customizer option only works for WP default buttons and buttons added with WP button block.

Ahhh, OK then.
I created a Gutenberg button and it took the GP default colors upon creation and responds to changes in color as well.
GenerateBlocks and Elementor buttons not so much (at all).
Thank you!
