Hello Tom,
I wonder if you can help me. On http://www.familie-koeck.net I just replaced my (now) former theme with your GP theme, cause I love it. There is my family blog, that consists mainly private posts (there is only 1 public post, the rest >150 are private posts – permanently growing). Because of the private content the site is fully accessible by “members” only.
1. Now I’m looking for a search plug-in that can find posts by words, which are included in the post text itself. The WP search function only finds by categories or tags… the same with other plug-ins! I haven’t found one that searchs with containing words! Do you know at least one?
2. the plug-in must run in this private setting.Do you have any suggestion? I really appreciate your help!
Best regards,
SvenDecember 30, 2015 at 4:44 pm #162535TomLead DeveloperLead DeveloperHi Sven,
The WordPress search function definitely searches your post content by default – are you doing anything special when adding content? Or are you using regular posts?

regular posts, but private… can it be, that by default private posts are not searched? And if that is, can it be changed?
Regards,
Sven
(plug-in user, no php-knowledge)December 31, 2015 at 10:14 am #162597TomLead DeveloperLead DeveloperA plugin like this may help: https://wordpress.org/plugins/relevanssi/
January 19, 2016 at 3:59 am #166644SvenWas already installed and … did not solve my problem! The indexation is done, but nothing found (although there definitely is the corresponding content in at least one post)!
Additionally I get the following error message in a blank page:
“500 Internal Server Error
Internal Server Error
The server encountered an internal error or misconfiguration and was unable to complete your request.
Please contact the server administrator, and inform them of the time the error occurred, and anything you might have done that may have caused the error.
More information about this error may be available in the server error log.
Additionally, a 404 Not Found error was encountered while trying to use an ErrorDocument to handle the request.”
Any suggestions?

It could be a php memory issue: https://generatepress.com/knowledgebase/increasing-memory-limit/
That plugin is very well reviewed and updated recently.
There is some code you can use as well: http://wordpress.stackexchange.com/questions/110569/private-posts-pages-search
