I have installed the GP premium and need to do some customization for work as per our need, few of the requirements are:

    1. Having few custom widgets.
    2. Customizing few styles (I know this can be done without child theme).
    3. Injecting few additional CSS and JS files

I followed your guidelines and used the same child theme (https://docs.generatepress.com/article/using-child-theme/#installing-a-child-theme) to perform these customization, however, after using the child theme I am getting “GP Premium requires GeneratePress to be your active theme.” message. Though it seems the things are working fine and I can see the customization and other things working as expected.

I am not a WordPress expert and before moving forward, I want to make sure I am not doing any wrong step and having a child theme will not create any issue for me

    Hi there,

Can you make sure the free theme is installed along with the child theme?

What if you download and install a child theme from here without modifying it?
