Using the http://speedtest.generatepress.com/ site for testing. On pagespeedinsights it gets 100%.
However when tested on Google’s “Test My Site” it gets an average score, says needs improvement.
Here is the page to test the site – https://www.thinkwithgoogle.com/intl/en-gb/feature/testmysite/
Ive got 4 generatepress sites set up and tested them all. 3 are average one is slow
This is confusing as pagespeedinsights says my site is 95-97%
Maybe this needs looking into guys as this tool is apparently the main tool to see how the site performs

Please can you look into this

Lead DeveloperLead DeveloperHi there,
The base theme is very light, so it’s definitely not slow.
However, as you add things to the site (plugins, images, page builders, content), things will start to slow down.
If you’d like to share the URL to your site, we can take a look to see if there’s anything specific that jumps out.
Thanks!

Hi Tom. I tested your site http://speedtest.generatepress.com/
It says its “average”

Lead DeveloperLead DeveloperUnfortunately, they don’t provide any actual data/information in that test. It simply says the load time on a 4G network.
The speed test site loaded in 1.1s on a 4G connection with an “Average” rating:

Google.com loaded in 1.2s on a 4G connection with a “Fast” rating:

I think you’re much better off using a tool like this: https://developers.google.com/speed/pagespeed/insights/
Not only will it give you load times and “scores”, but it will tell you what needs to be done in order to improve upon them.

its strange as i said, pagespeedinsights gives my GP sites 97%. But I then get “slow” on that test my site

Lead DeveloperLead DeveloperThe best thing to do is run your site through a test that will give you reasons why. GTMetrix, Pingdom, Pagespeed Insights are all good places to test, as they give you actual data on what’s slowing down the site. That way you can improve it 🙂
