The colors will remain if I change them via the GUI or it is better if I edit colors through custom CSS. May 6, 2020 at 7:35 am #1271995 Matthias I use the generatepress child theme for that reason. You can find info and download it here. At least for me like that it worked with updates and custom changes werent touched. I dont know if colors are touched if you use no child theme. May 6, 2020 at 9:57 am #1272420 TomLead Developer Lead Developer Hi there, When the theme is updated, all of the parent theme files are replaced with new ones. If you make changes to those core theme files, those changes will be lost. Any changes you make in the database (Customizer options, plugin options etc..) are not affected by theme updates. So as long as you keep your changes in the Customizer, you have nothing to worry about.
