I would like to add light boxes to the galleries on posts, can you suggest a plugin to do those?
I really like the way this theme handles the standard galleries:

do you thinks is possible just to extract that “lightbox” functionality and add it as a plugin for generatepress?

Are you using Jetpack? They have a built in Lightbox module for WordPress galleries – I think that’s what the above theme is doing.

No, I would like to avoid installing jetpack, i think that it installs another bunch of stuff i don’t really need 🙁
If you scroll down in that page you see that they also support native galleries with lightbox.
As far as I can see they are using this:

I was trying to say that the aforementioned plug-in works perfectly.
While the second link (the one regarding “bananas”) gives you a really nice tip on how to customize the “style” of the plug-in.
