I am having all kinds of problems with the site. We are using Generate
Press pro as the theme. And WPML and Elementor. The default language is
Hebrew.1. Headers are set in Generate Press. On the static pages, they translate
and go easily to the English pages (Static pages are built in Elementor) –
but on the blog pages, the English posts are not showing up, the English
headers are not showing up I just cannot spot the errors. The blog
archive templates are made in Elementor as are the single post templates
they work fine in the Hebrew version of the site.2. I still have not been able to get the dashboard to stay in English
even when I am on the English pages. The client wants to launch ASAP. They have decided just to launch the
Hebrew and English until the Russian pages are translated. We have been
working on the site for months now. But I cannot launch the pages at all
until the headers are working and the posts are showing up. There have
been soooo many changes on this site that I cannot spot errors anymore.
Please look it over for me and advise.October 30, 2019 at 9:25 am #1049002LeoStaffCustomer SupportHi there,
1. Can you guide me to blog pages with the issues? I checked the home page and everything seems to be good.
This doesn’t sound like a theme issue though but I’m happy to double check.
2. The theme doesn’t handle the dashboard language settings – it’s all handled by WordPress:

http://inbar.kehilathaderech.org/en/category/family/
It even substituted the Events header??? Also, on the English archive page the posts don’t open to the single post archive.http://inbar.kehilathaderech.org/category/%d7%90%d7%99%d7%a8%d7%95%d7%a2%d7%99%d7%9d-%d7%95%d7%a4%d7%a2%d7%99%d7%9c%d7%95%d7%99%d7%95%d7%aa/ (this one is okay, the translation is also what I expect:
http://inbar.kehilathaderech.org/en/category/events/http://inbar.kehilathaderech.org/category/%d7%9e%d7%a1%d7%a8-%d7%9e%d7%a9%d7%91%d7%aa-%d7%94%d7%90%d7%97%d7%a8%d7%95%d7%a0%d7%94/
(this one is okay, the translation is not: it features the activities header) http://inbar.kehilathaderech.org/en/category/last-weeks-message/
(and this is the ghost page???:) http://inbar.kehilathaderech.org/en/category/last-weeks-shabbat-message/http://inbar.kehilathaderech.org/category/%D7%A0%D7%95%D7%A9%D7%90%D7%99%D7%9D-%D7%A9%D7%95%D7%A0%D7%99%D7%9D/
(this one is okay, the translation is not:
http://inbar.kehilathaderech.org/en/category/other-teachings/ – again it goes to the events header.I see there is a kind of pattern here, but I cannot figure out where my mistake is.
Secondly – please note that ALL of the category blogs stack the logo too soon. I would like the logo to be beside the navigation like on the static pages – It seems like the container width is different on the blog pages than it is on the static pages – how do I change that? Is it possible to have a different font size on the English Menu than on the Hebrew Nav Menu? The English comes out too large if I use the right size for the Hebrew.
October 30, 2019 at 4:24 pm #1049241TomLead DeveloperLead DeveloperLet’s try to work through one issue at a time.
Firstly, the Header Element issue.
So this Header is set to a category: http://inbar.kehilathaderech.org/category/%d7%93%d7%a8%d7%a9%d7%95%d7%aa-%d7%9e%d7%90%d7%a1%d7%99%d7%a4%d7%95%d7%aa-%d7%94%d7%a9%d7%91%d7%aa/
Is this the same category, but in English?: http://inbar.kehilathaderech.org/en/category/shabbot-messages/
What about this specific Header isn’t working, exactly? Have you translated the original Header Element using the WPML settings? I see it’s in English, but has a different image attached to it.
When it comes to using WPML, I’m not an expert. However, their support is excellent, and we have worked together with them to make sure Elements is fully WPML-ready. Have you reached out to them, yet?
Let me know 🙂
October 31, 2019 at 3:07 am #1049448ToniThanks for your quick response Tom,
The problem is that the headers are not the same. The Hebrew page has the right header – the one with the open book. Somehow I have a different header altogether on the English page. That has to do with display rules – but I am unclear on how to fix that. The headers translated perfectly – but at first did not appear at all on the English pages – then I tried to fix it and somehow the wrong header appeared on the English page (as you can see now). Also, for some reason, the category name has appeared. I thought I had set up a hook to get rid of the category title on the page, but that has broken too.
Yes, I did reach out to WPML – waiting for them to respond.
Meanwhile, I have also reached out to Elementor. It looks like all of the archive and single post templates have disappeared.
Maybe just too many new plugins for the site?
October 31, 2019 at 9:51 am #1049846TomLead DeveloperLead DeveloperHow are you adding the background image to the Hebrew version? Is it pulling the featured image from the page itself, or is there a custom background image added to the Header Element?
November 1, 2019 at 3:59 am #1050329ToniThe image is set in the header element – the translation is done with the + provided by WPML. And it was working on the static pages – just not on the blog pages.
A new header problem has come up now: I remade a header from a static page, without the background image, and it works fine in the default version (Hebrew) but the other versions will not drop the background image – where can I address the other versions?
November 1, 2019 at 9:14 am #1050638TomLead DeveloperLead DeveloperSo when you clone the Header using the +, does the cloned Header have the same image set as the background?
