After connecting to my WP account, I realised for strange reasons that the Yoast SEO plugin is NOT available anymore…quite embarassing I have to admit !

March 8, 2022 at 5:54 am #2146573LonginosHi Johann
So te question is not that is not available but you can´t install it.
And there can be a bunch of reasons for it, but my experience is mainly 3 reasons:
1.- Maybe your hosting avoid installation of some plugins. Ask to the hosting.
2.- Maybe a file permission issue, if the user that runs the web process is unable to write in this directory, the plugin can´t install
3.- Maybe lack of space in the disk.
Can you acces to the web log? Maybe there is some message to explain the error.March 8, 2022 at 6:00 am #2146582DavidStaffCustomer SupportYou need to speak with your Host.
GeneratePress has nothing to do with this, it has no control over the permissions for installing a plugins such as Yoast.March 8, 2022 at 6:07 am #2146586JohannOk guys, thanks for the cool help !
The thing is that I always used Yoast from the very beginning of my website’s creation so I don’t really understand why as a sudden I can’t access it anymore without any logic…
I keep you posted as it might be helpful for the other users

March 8, 2022 at 1:55 pm #2147292JohannHi There,
Quick update for you guys.
I went to my registrar and explained them what was the issue.
They recommended me to go to that directory ==> public_html/wp-content/plugins and then to delete the wordpress-seo folder (Yoast SEO in my case) in the cPanel file manager.
Once done, go back to WP > Dashboard > Plugins > Look for Yoast SEO > Install > Set it up
Done (phew) !

Then I think the main reason for the issue was file permisions, for whatever reason the folder is not writable
by the user that runs the web process. Deleting it and re-create makes the folder writable.March 9, 2022 at 1:15 am #2147693DavidStaffCustomer SupportJohann – glad to hear you found a solution
