Really I couldn't understand how to change the widths of each widget area in the footer using the following filters:

generate_footer_widget_1_width
generate_footer_widget_2_width
generate_footer_widget_3_width
generate_footer_widget_4_width
generate_footer_widget_5_width

The footer of this site isn't using any special code at all, it's simply using the 4 footer widgets layout:

OK, I just removed the code and I'm going to use the 2 footer widgets layout.
However, the color of the footer text has become unresponsive to change and now seems unvisible. why?

The PHP code should have nothing to do with the font color.

Have you tried the text color option under Customizer > Colors > Footer?
