WP show posts shortcode gives me a "500 (Internal Server) Error Message"

Tom,
I'm trying to use the WP Show Posts plugin as a portfolio to show my work the main site is dhawthorne.com and the wp show posts portion is dhawthorne.com/portfolio. I've tried a couple times but as soon as I put the [wp_show_posts id="573"] shortcode in the body of a new page it messes up the page. I get a error page that says "We've happened upon a bit of a problem... [Beware of Sharks image] 500 (Internal Server) Error ...that we're working furiously to correct. Things will be up and running again soon. Thanks for your patience."
What am I doing wrong? I'm using the shortcode the dropdown is getting me. It works for pages but not posts.
