    Hi there

I’d be really grateful if you could help me with the following question – I’ve searched high and low on the internet but to no avail:

If I edit a page on WordPress, is the previously published page still visible online? I would like to update my pages, but would not like my pages to “go down” whilst editing.

Thankyou – I don’t know who else to ask!

    Best wishes
    Pauline

    Hi there,

the Published version of the Page or Post will remain live whilst you’re editing them. Just to note that any updates to the page will be published.

So if you’re making big changes to say a landing page then you’re better off creating a Staging Site ( a good host should have this as an option ) to make the changes and when happy you push them to the live site.

Thanks David. There won’t be huge changes. Is there a way I can work on a copy of a page, and save the copy before I decide to publish it?

We actually found this plugin recently to do that very thing for updating the GP Docs:
