Wondering about easiest way to accomplish this side menu for website

Hello,
I am wanting to remake this Avada themed website menu layout using generatepress. I think its possible, but perhaps not one of the easily available customizer layout options?
Do you have any suggestions on the best method to replicate the menu so that it is on the left?
I was thinking of using the sidebar menu option in generatepress. But when I look at the code it seems like the avada menu is actually using the header to accomplish that affect, with the buttons overlaying the header background image. So maybe if I use the genereatepress elements tool and make a header that merges with the menu? If that is the best option, how would I go about having the header on the side instead of the top of the page?
Any advice would be greatly appreciated.
Thank you.
Hey just updating this ticket:
I did some more searching and found this thread:
On page 2 Tom recommends building the site using a site from their library that already utilizes a side menu.
Is that still the best approach? Right now I have generatepress installed then I am using the beaverbuilder pagebuilder. By using the site from the generatepress site library I imagine it doesn't add any unnecessary bloat code, just the alternative menu location?
If you're starting from scratch, using a site like Sider as your starting base is definitely the easiest way.
How far along is your current site? You could do the first step of the Sider installation which will add GP options and the custom CSS to your site. Then just skip the second step which adds the content.
Of course, the above will overwrite any current GP options you have set.
I was going to build it from scratch using generatepress and beaverbuilder, just trying to copy the same layout as it currently has with the avada theme.
So that sounds great about the using the Sider site to get started with.
Thanks a lot Tom!
In that case, Sider is the way to go. Then if you need additional help with small tweaks, we'll be here :)
