i was updating a page and when I saved it, the Archive widget showed up in a newly created left side bar. It is only on this page. No idea where it came from and cannot see how to get rid of it. I’m afraid to update others. Help please.

    Hi there,

Not 100% sure what you mean. So your own widgets disappeared?

Those search and archive widgets are there by default to fill the space when a sidebar layout is selected. When you add your own widget, those 2 should disappear and only display the widget you added.

Let me know if this helps ๐Ÿ™‚

I double-checked and I have Content – no sidebars, selected under Customizing > layouts > Sidebar.
Plus, I not see it when I am editing the page. Is there any way for me to send you screenshots?

What about the sidebar setting in the Layout metabox of that page?

Make sure you clear the caching plugin as well.
