Where is the category.php file?

I created a child theme using the Child Theme Configurator plugin, do I need to copy all the files from the parent theme to the child theme?

I am trying to put shortcodes in the different category pages, but I do not see a category.php file in GP, is it the archive.php file that I copy into my child theme?

Definitely not - only copy the files you need to overwrite.

Yes - GP uses archive.php for all of our archives, including the categories.
