When creating new post, update failed message appears

The odd thing is that the post is created. If I change the post and update it, again I get the message, and again the change is accepted.
This is using the standard text editor in WP 5.1. All plugins are up to date.

That part should be all handled by WordPress itself.
I assume you get the same error with a default Twenty series theme from WordPress?

Yes, switching themes made no difference, so GP is off the hook. Next stop: WP itself.

I'd start by disabling all plugins to test :)
The problem was caused by Gutenberg. Reverting to Classic Editor fixed it.
