What is a page header

Page header has actually been replaced by Header Elements/Page hero.

thanks very much for your quick response. I feel like an idiot, but I can't figure out how to add a page header to a page.

Are you using page hero now? If so try the Display Rule:
https://docs.generatepress.com/article/header-element-overview/#display-rules

If you want it on a specific page, then select Page then the name of the page.

Okay, thanks again, now can you tell me if the horrible page header gizmo I have just constructed can be a background video, full width, instead? Don't see any provision for that.

Ahh sorry. Missed the part that you needed a video instead of image.
