What Fonts To Choose For Optimum site speed

I'm configuring GP premium in a staging site for an existing blog running a different theme. I'd like to know if font selection has an impact on site speed/load time. And if it does, what should I choose for the fastest load time. Finally, the body text font selection is "system stack". What does that mean?

System stack is the best font for performance.

Ok. Good. Thank you. One more question. All of the heading fonts say "inherit". What does that mean?
That means it inherits the body font :)
