What does bottom margin refer to in typography/headings?

I'm working on the spacing of my excerpts on blog page, and every time I change the bottom margin in typography, headings, I see absolutely no change at all in anything.
What does this control?
I put a dark bg for now so changes will be more visible.

Hi there,
bottom margin controls the spacing for the Single Post / Page content not the blog archives.
If you want to change the spacing on the Blog that can be done in Customizer > Layout > Container > Content Separator
