What am I missing without Beaver Builder?

Hi,
I'm interested in using the Pivot starter theme, but it looks like one of the plugins you need is the pro version of Beaver Builder.
Here's my question - do you need it in order to fully use the Pivot themes? Put another way, if I opt not to use it, what will I be missing?
Thanks,
Matt
Hey Matt,
You can import Pivot without BB pro - the only drawback is that the content from the pro plugin will not display.
I'm not very familiar with BB but I believe the free version is quite limited.
Do you absolutely want to go with a page builder? If not then you can actually rebuild Pivot using GenerateBlocks free as well.
Let me know :)
I don't need to important the content. I'm importing the theme to a site with existing content.
I'm not sure if I want/need to go with a page builder. I'm able to tweak themes/code as needed - just wanted a theme to give me a heads start towards something that looks good. Or find something that will enable me to quickly build/replicate something I have in mind.
Will the GenerateBlocks (plugin/feature?) do that?
I’m importing the theme to a site with existing content.
We typically don't recommend doing that - make sure you do it in a staging environment if it's absolutely necessary.
I'd say you should give GenerateBlocks a go first before BB - it can achieve basically everything a typical page builder like BB and Elementor can.
Most of our top sites here are all done with GB:

I already did it (oops). Do you mind if I ask why? Is it just the risk of overwriting the content?
I’ll check out GB. I didn’t see it in the backend, but I wasn’t looking for it either.

Yes. There is usually lots of tweaking needed so a staging site is highly recommended.
Got it, thanks! I’ll look into doing that plus GB. Thanks for your help!
No problem :)
