Tom
- I have a slideshow I want to add under the menu on my front page ONLY.
- Then I want to build my front page normally (outside of content template).
- I thought the content template would be a way to easily call the slideshow (with what little GP knowledge I have).
However
After building the Content Template – I get ONLY the template showing on the front page now – with no other page content.
My page content is only available to see in the back-end Pages>My Front Page.Is my approach wrong?
ThanksDecember 18, 2022 at 12:26 pm #2466245Leo

Hi Tom,
Yes, it seems your approach may be wrong.
You shouldn’t need an element if you’re showing it just on the Front Page. May we know what specific difficulties you have when trying to add the Slideshow directly to the page?

Fernando,
I will try it directly on the front page as opposed to a Content Template and let you know.
I will go back and read up more on when Content Template instances are good to use.
Thanks!

That worked (go figure).
I had to set the width to 2400 pixels as 1920 would not reach the right edge of my open browser window. I don’t know if that is the correct thing to so – but have the basic space present and can revisit when ready.
Thank you!

StaffCustomer SupportHi Tom,

It sounds like your homepage is a static page, if so, you just need to set the page’s content container to full width, so the section will go full width no matter how wide your browser screen is.
To set a page’s content container to full width, you can use the layout metabox in the page editor:

Thank you Ying, I fixed it. Then changed slideshows. haha.
Appreciate the help!

Ying, just to confirm…
1 – When I want an element to reach the edges of the browser – its best to set the whole page to “Full Width”
2 – And then set other elements on the page to ‘Container Width”Correct? (essentially what I am doing with my front page)

StaffCustomer SupportYes, that is correct 🙂
