Using add-ons with Pods.io custom content type

I want to use the premium add-ons with custom content type created with the pods.io framework. I'm particularly interested in using the Sections add-on. For now, every time I create a new content type with pods, the "Use sections" box isn't showing on the admin page.
FWIW, Pods can take a comma-separated list of custom "supports" values to pass to register_post_type... Perhaps that the sections meta box can be added through that?
