CRISTO
I have seen quite a few posts from you advising against using Google fonts (because it will increase load times?) Confusing to me, because I thought the advantage of Google fonts was that they load fast…but I don’t know much about fonts I must admit.
I am using system, inherit for all my content but wanted something a bit different for the site title. Any comments as to why this is not a good idea?

StaffCustomer SupportHi there,
Using Google Fonts is the best option for fonts for sure.
You should see minimal impact on the load time 🙂

Do you mean they are better for everything rather than system–inherit? I was sure I had seen some posts here somewhere that advised against using Google fonts….can’t find them right now unfortunately.

StaffCustomer SupportSystem stack is best. But Google Fonts should have minimal impact as well. Don’t think we’ve advised against Google Font. You can always speed test your site with and without google font.

Sorry, but now I am confused. You said Google Fonts is the best option, then you said system stack is best.

StaffCustomer SupportGoogle Fonts is the best option if you want to choose a font.
Just do a speed test then you should be able to see it for yourself 🙂

Yes…site needs to be https…the instructions make that clear.

Lead DeveloperLead DeveloperGoogle Fonts require a request to Google. HTTP requests will always slow your site down (sometimes hardly noticeable, sometimes more noticeable, it depends).
The fewer variants you choose to load with your fonts, the less time they will take to load.
Something like the System Stack will always be faster, as it’s not making an HTTP request – it loads the font from your computer.
