I’ve been trying for two hours to get rid of an oversize logo on my site. If, in Customizer, I check “Remove” under the logo selection area, it removes the logo. If I replace that logo with something else, just a random pic from the media library, it doesn’t appear but the original logo does.
I’ve looked everywhre in CSS files and can’t think of where this is coming from.
I decided to export my settings and activated the export filter but it’s either not working or the entire plugin isn’t working as I simply can’t find it. Your documentation doesn’t say anything about where it is.
Is there something wrong with this whole plug-in? Should I replace it?

The Import/Export for GP Premium should just show up under where you activate and deactivate components in Appearance => GeneratePress.
There is a box under the “WooCommerce WooCommerce not activated.” (since I don’t use WooCommerce) that is title Import/Export.
Is yours not there even when Import/Export is active?
As for the random logo getting uploaded, I’ve never heard of that personally, but that’s a core WP setting. Even the default 2017 theme uses that, so it’s possible something in WP itself needs to be replaced. Two things to try would be switch themes back to the default 2017 and see if the logo upload works. If so you may need to reinstall the GeneratePress theme. If not, then it’s possible WP has a messed up file somewhere. To try to fix that you can take a backup and go to Dashboard => Updates and click “Reinstall Now” (or upgrade if you’re not on the current version).
I’d recommend a backup as it definitely sounds like something strange is going on and a backup may come in useful!

Thanks for your reply. I found see the import/export box– just didn’t think to scroll down on that add-ons page..
Re the logos, I wasn’t clear — there are no random logos getting uploaded. What I meant to say was that I could replace the original logo with any other image from the Media Library but that new image wouldn’t show up on the page even though it would show in the Customize–> Site Identity box. The only way for me to remove the original logo from the page is to remove the image in the Site Identity Box which of course means I have no logo at all on my site.

StaffCustomer SupportHi there,
This is the current logo image I see: http://strictlyhydraulics.com/wordpress/wp-content/uploads/2017/10/cropped-strictlylogo.png
Is this the correct one?
If something works in customizer preview and not in live site, it’s likely caching issue.

No that’s not the logo you should see. I’ve designated another pic as the logo and saved it and emptied cache. Tried on 3 different browsers.

StaffCustomer SupportDo you see the correct logo in customizer preview?
Any server caching, Cloudflare?
Might be worth going through #1 here as well: https://docs.generatepress.com/article/debugging-tips/

Yes I see the new logo in the preview box under Site Identity in Customizer, and still see the original logo on my site. I don’t think it’s a caching issue as other stuff changes right away. Do you know of any other place where that original logo could have been designated? I’ve looked everywhere I can think of. I didn’t fool around with the main CSS under Editor and removed the CSS I had written in Simple CSS.

Lead DeveloperLead DeveloperI’m not seeing any logo at all right now: https://www.screencast.com/t/NEkcJKhpV
Were you able to remove it?

I can easily remove the logo but if I designate any picture as the logo the original image re-appears. I’ve removed and reinstalled the plugin but no change.

Lead DeveloperLead DeveloperCan you re-add the logo so I can see?

There must be some caching somewhere– I removed the theme, plugin and all extensions and reinstalled the theme by itself. But it still has the original background colors. I can now remove and replace the logo but an old logo I was using to test this thing has reappeared out of nowhere below the main logo.
I installed the theme by iteself on another site and it’s working properly there.

Lead DeveloperLead DeveloperIf there’s no caching plugin, then it might be server-side caching. Might be worth contacting your hosting just to check.
