Unable to use Font Awesome 5

I'm using Code Snippets to add the php function of Font Awesome 5 and there's no "Load essential icons only" option in Customize > General.(from here: https://docs.generatepress.com/article/font-awesome/)

For some reason, it's not loading the icons that I need to use on the main nav, it just shows these rectangular boxes.

This might help... In that sample page, under beaver builder (Edit Mode) it shows the icons properly. Would it be something that is conflicting with the current site library imported settings?

Hi there,

Are you using only the snippet or Better Font Awesome plugin as well?

Both are required in order for FA5 to work.

I'm using Code Snippets and the function code, but I disabled the Better Fontawesome plugin and it works. It doesn't work when I have the plugin active.

Not sure what you mean. To use FA5?
