I would like to add the same amount of margin above the featured image blog posts as I have on the website pages. I have no heading above the blog posts (which we use for news (nyheter) on the website). Even though I try to add 40px margin or padding above the featured image blog posts, it does not work, the featured image is displayed on top of the screen without margin/padding. How can I get the margin/padding to work?

For the 4 column posts on the front page?
Those are added in BB and perhaps another plugin as well.
If so you’d have to check with their support. GP doesn’t give them an styles at all.
